Summary:
The Public Affairs Support will achieve communication of the organization's mission and leadership's vision; identifies issue-specific communication needs and develops informative visual, written, audio, Web-based, and multimedia concepts to communicate to selected audiences about organizational policies, programs and services
Responsibilities:
Receive requests for internal news coverage from Naval Construction Group One (NCG) leadership, military services and DoD agencies; produces or reviews layouts and designs for internal information products; prepares news and feature articles and multimedia products; and takes still imagery to support events or for historical documentation.
Assist the Public Affairs Officer with response to queries from the news media and other government agencies; coordinates with Public Affairs Officer, as well as with senior, peer, and subordinate echelons to develop written products and release information following established guidelines; assists the Public Affairs Officer with marketing Navy information, events, and stories to the media; and monitors mass media coverage of the Navy and assembles reports for management officials.
Review, edit and market multimedia products created by NCG ONE's nine subordinate units for release by the Public Affairs Officer.
Provide leadership media training.
Coordinate the efforts of NCG ONE's Photo Lab located in Bldg.
1436 at Naval Construction Group ONE Headquarters, Port Hueneme, California.
This will include managing appointments for full length photos, quarterdeck photos, command biography photos, sailor of the year photos, and other administrative package photos.
Assemble the content of NCG ONE's social and digital media platform, as well as supports the social and digital media platforms of their nine subordinate units for approval for the Public Affairs Officer.
Assist the Public Affairs Officer in managing inventory, operation, and life cycle management of a variety of state-of-the-art still cameras, and other equipment and systems relating to public affairs.
Maintain current contact lists for NCG ONE's subordinate unit public affairs personnel, media, and email distributions for public affairs products.
Requirements:
Active DoD Secret Clearance.

A.
degree in English or Public Affairs preferred 10 years public affairs experience; working directly with the Naval Construction Force preferred.
Expert level proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite Software (Photoshop, InDesign, Bridge, and Illustrator), Microsoft Office Suite (i.
e.
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Nikon DLSR cameras, advanced photo studio processes and techniques, as well as video capturing and editing techniques.
Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to perform the work.
Knowledge of the principles of public communication; the development of communication products; how information is used in the mass media, focusing on news media, social media, and organizational use of the Internet.
